I decided to re-read the hunchback of Notre Dame, Frankenstein and the Phantom of the Opera because the main characters are deformed like me. All three books have a common plot. Each story is about a deformed man looking to be accepted and love. Each story has a woman that the deformed man desires. But the society and woman reject the man despite he is loving and kind. The love and kindness turns to hate because the man does not have good looks, status or power. Each story has one or more characters with status or power. They always win the deformed man always is lonely at the end of the book. Also each book is about loving somebody that doesn’t love them. For example Cloud love Esmeralda but she loved Fabius but Fabius loved one other woman. Fabius had the status and Esmeralda was nothing. But Fabius wanted to have sex with he. The moment that he had sex with her he threw her away. Cloud and Quasimodo loved Esmeralda but Esmeralda threw them away.  The husband of Esmeralda loved Jolly and not Esmeralda. Jolly was the goat. The husband and Fabius lived but Cloud and Esmeralda were killed and Quasimodo disappear.

The deformed man in Frankenstein was hated by everyone. He asked Frankenstein to make him a woman like him. Frankenstein created a woman but then he decided to kill the woman. The deformed man killed the wife the younger brother and the best friend of Frankenstein. Frankenstein searched all over for the deformed man Frankenstein mate but at the end of the book Frankenstein died and the deformed man was very lonely.

The name of the Phantom of the opera was Eric. Eric was born deformed. The mother threw him away. The circus found Eric and made money from Eric. Eric run away and he found the opera house and he lived in the basement. He was very smart. Christine was one of the opera dancer. Eric decided to teach her how to sing but Christine never saw his deformed face. Eric was inlove with Christine but Christine inloved Raul. When Eric realized that Christine never love him, he turned to hate. At the end of the book Christine and Raul were together and Eric disappeared.

This book showed that if you are deformed without power or without status people with reject you. If you are deformed with power or with status, the people will associate with you only for the power and status.

But no matter what their mind will hate the deformity.

I have Celebral palsy may face is deformed. But not like the deformed men in the books I learned very young not to look for love from anyone but to make sure I have power.  Without power I am nothing.
